Hukilau at HMK

The “Hukilau” at Humble Market Kitchin party is inspired by the Hawaiian beachside hukilau and also celebrates cultures and foods that were prepared on Maui plantations with a modern interpretation.  Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Filipino immigrants were brought over to work on the plantations in the 1800’s and those roots are represented in the current culinary scene on Maui.  We are featuring those flavors and your personal culinary style at our beachfront dining room for our “Hukilau”.

Roy has been a part of and contributed to Hawaii communities and organizations since 1988.  A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.  The MACC is a non-profit organization where the community can gather and celebrate creativity through personal and shared experiences of the arts.  The MACC’s mission is to educate and preserve the history of the many ethnic cultures that built our modern Maui through the arts.
